It will be convenient for you to following these do’s and don’ts before embarking on your trip to the Sunny side of life in Maldives.
Do's:
- Stay in the nicest resort you can afford, it's a once in a lifetime vacation, so don't waste it
- Do watch traditional and cultural dance shows.
- Do visit the local market and the fish market in the morning to experience the daily life of the local
- Enjoy the sand, sun and water.
- Do dress properly when visiting a Mosque or religious site.
- Do respect the Muslim customs, especially during Ramadan.
- Please be modestly dressed while visiting local islands.
Don'ts:
- Don't carry alcohol from airport. all resort hotels have bars.
- Do not bring religious materials that is offensive to Islam.
- Law prohibits collecting live corals and shells
- During snorkeling please be careful not break any coral which would damage the beauty of the water world.
- Don't go to a local island in short shorts. and tank tops, respect their cultures and dress a bit c conservatively.
- If you're not a good swimmer don't go inside the deep water.
- Don’t get involved in possession or consumption of narcotic drugs.
- Don’t smoke or consume food during the holy month of Ramadan during day time in Male City.
